After admiring our work for some time, this client reached out with a heartfelt vision. They were ready to create their dream kitchen, one that would be entirely bespoke, timeless in style, and beautifully suited to family life. Based in the village of Gosfield, near Braintree, this project is a wonderful example of how we design and build bespoke kitchens in Braintree and the surrounding areas, combining fine craftsmanship with a personal, hands-on approach.

The brief centred around creating a handmade kitchen that would serve as the heart of the home. A generous island was a top priority, not only as a functional feature but as a social space where the family could gather and connect. This wasn’t just about fitting cabinetry into a space; it was about creating a kitchen that felt like part of the family.
Having explored various ideas for kitchens in Braintree, the client was drawn to our individual approach, where every kitchen is crafted in-house and tailored from the ground up. As an independent kitchen designer, we were able to offer a one-to-one experience and total creative freedom, something they couldn’t find elsewhere
This project was deeply inspired by the client’s love of the outdoors. They wanted the kitchen to feel calm, grounded and in harmony with the rest of the home. With that in mind, we selected tulipwood for its smooth finish and durability, and hand-painted it in a soft, natural shade by Little Greene.
To enhance the sense of flow, we introduced curved units that softened the layout and brought a sense of movement to the space. A bespoke mantle became the focal point above the range, perfect for seasonal decorating. We also incorporated a pull-out larder, discreet, elegant, and full of practical storage space.

As with all of our kitchens in Braintree, this one was entirely designed, built and installed by the Regent St James team at our Essex showroom and workshop. Every element, from the curved cabinetry to the mantle detailing, was handcrafted on-site.
Our all-in-one process meant the installation was seamless and closely aligned with the original design. With no outsourcing or third-party manufacturers, we were able to maintain complete control of quality and finish, delivering a truly bespoke result from start to finish.
The completed kitchen feels as though it has always belonged in the home. It is soft, elegant and welcoming, with a calm palette that complements the client’s love for nature. The curved island has become a true centrepiece, a place to cook, chat, and enjoy daily life.
